Teams

For the 2026 SYS World Championships, we expect top teams from all over the world to demonstrate their skills in Salzburg and compete for the title. The athletes will bring not only top sporting performances, but also diversity, emotion, and an international atmosphere to our city.

We will publish the official overview of all participating teams after the registration deadline.

Here you will find detailed information about the nations and teams, as well as exciting background stories about their participation.
Check back regularly – it's worth it!

We are especially pleased to welcome the inclusive Special Olympics Team – Viennese Butterflies – to the opening ceremony. Special Olympics synchronized skating is one of the "Unified Sports" at Special Olympics, meaning that out of a maximum of 16 athletes on a team, a maximum of 8 athletes may be without intellectual disabilities. They train together and have competed in competitions since 2017.
Special Olympics synchronized skating is now available in several countries, including Canada and the USA.
